A smart-bed is based on a real-time understanding of what is happening with the sleeper, while also taking into account retrospective analysis of that person's prior sleep. The platform already knows a great deal about the sleeper's history and learns more every night. It combines that accumulated knowledge with what is happening now to determine what the sleeper needs and take intelligent, personalized action.
Why does that matter? Sleep is a dynamic eight-hour biological process, and our needs change throughout the night. A report the next morning is valuable, but it cannot improve the night that just passed. A smart-bed closes the loop. It can respond to snoring, provide a soft red pathway light when one sleeper gets up, create a personalized relaxation routine, or adjust temperature in real time to support deep sleep and recovery.
Continuous monitoring provides both real-time and historical understanding. The smart-bed uses that understanding to improve sleep as it is happening.

How we use AI, deep learning, and generative AI in the Tempur-Pedic Sleeptracker-AI® platform: We use AI to analyze sleep data collected by the Sleeptracker-AI® system to help identify different sleep stages, detect sleep disorders, and provide users with personalized sleep recommendations. With AI data science methodologies, we can closely match gold-standard PSG sleep analysis and continue to improve accuracy and applicability in real-world settings. We, of course, carefully consider bias and other ethical issues in that process. Our methodologies include deep learning, generative AI-supervised learning, and reinforcement learning techniques. To continually generate training data, we operate two clinical PSG sleep clinics.
